Homashahr Resort Complex

Comprising an important annex to the town of Sepidan in the north west of Shiraz, this 81,715sq/m park features fun activities, each of which is geared toward providing leisure in this region.

The geometry of the site is in a rectangular shape of 737m by 144m on one end and 89m on the other. Situated on a mountain skirt the site has a total of 10m elevation. The geometry and the elevation of the site have both played an important role in the design process. Since the site is in a linear format the circulation and access have also been arranged a linear scheme.

The park is a landscaped area made up of a series of spaces connected by footpaths which are meant to encourage playing in a natural setting in a way that is fun as well as didactic. Starting with a parking-lot at its entrance the park follows in to an artificial mountain with waterfalls and caves; topped with a chair-lift that connects both ends of the park.

Further in to the site amenities include a golf course, various water sports including fishing and boat riding, artificial lake, Water Park, an amphitheater, restaurants and Cafés. Towards the end of the site is a hotel surrounded by villas and single family suits.

Imaginative solutions in the design has resulted in creating programs which combine the needs of creating an entertaining environment on the one hand and, on the other, providing an aesthetically pleasing public space, while also ensuring that the necessary safety requirements are met.
